Is September too late to cruise to alaska?

We are pricing cruises and the June July season seems very expensive without going into debt.  Late August and September seem to be much more affordable for me personally.... What am I sacrificing in going in late August or September

Hi Michael,

You sacrifice very little going for a September cruise; while the temperatures will be comfortable, there is slightly more risk of rain than a "high season" vacation.  June/July cruises are more expensive because mid-summer vacations are more popular and offer somewhat higher temperatures.

Make sure you book early because it can be very disappointing waiting until the last minute and then finding there is little to no remaining availability.  The "Advanced Cruise Search" underneath the Home button at top left of our home page will let you find the lowest-priced sailings for any particular month.
